Enlargement
General
The interior design follows the hygienic guidelines as well as contemporary design components. The idea is to create an comfortable environment with a fresh outfit.
Infection prevention design
As dialysis patients are highly susceptible to infections, we prevent cross-flow by other patients and staff,
Special isolation rooms with locks designated for patients who are or may be infectious.
Easy-to clean finish materials to reduce surface contamination are used as well as smooth surfaces, with minimum perforations and crevices. Minimal horizontal surfaces, ridges, reveals, or seams that could serve as dust collectors.
Hand washing stations are strategically placed and accessible throughout the patient treatment areas.
Each dialysate return will be located receptacle on the wall, centered at each patient station, and at a height such that it is easily accessible to clean repeatedly each day.
The minimum clearance between beds or chairs is 1,50m (RKI).
Staff areas are located to be convenient to staff and separate from patient areas.
Patient and staff circulations should be segregated.
Since many dialysis center operate 24 hours a day/ 365 days a year, its staff lounge, staff lockers, staff toilets, and staff showers should not be collocated with those of adjacent departments unless they are in close proximity and always accessible to the Dialysis Center staff.
Examination and treatment room
This room is used for physical exams prior to treatment, to implant cannulas and to remove clots from shunts. Also special examinations, treatment, or kidney biopsies are performed here.
Staff zone
Improved work efficiency and patient flow. Convenient locations of medications, supplies, and medical equipment to minimise unnecessary travel by nurses and staff. Easy-to-access electrical outlets for using/charging equipment, diagnostic instruments, and portable devices
